And without the leg cramps. cat_ad_ferries.indd 1 08/01/18 22:30 MEMBERNEWS Key West Express Lauded for Rescue Two hours into its route from Key West, FL, to Fort Myers, the captain of the Atlantic Cat, operated by PVA Member Key West Express, Fort Myers Beach, FL, received a distress call. Announcing to passengers aboard the ferry about the mayday call, the vessel quickly approached a recreational vessel that was burning in open water. The small boat’s occupants, a man and woman and two small dogs, had abandoned their boat and were in a dinghy. The victims, who were uninjured, were helped onto the 134-foot Atlantic Cat and brought to safety. The crew of the Atlantic Cat notified authorities and brought all pas- sengers and the rescued people and dogs to shore. Several Florida news outlets covered the story and praised the quick response of the crew of the Atlantic Cat for their timely rescue operation. n Twin Disc Has New President and COO Twin Disc, Inc., R a c i n e , W I , h a s appointed James E. Feiertag as president and COO. In May, Feiertag assumed the role of president, pre- viously held by CEO John H. Batten, and replaced COO Mac Moore, who retired. In this role, Feiertag will be respon- sible for overseeing the functions of operations, sales, marketing, distri- bution and engineering. Prior to this appointment, Feiertag had been the president and CEO of a manufacturing firm. Before that, he was employed at Twin Disc for 14 years, most recently as executive vice president. During his tenure, he had a variety of global and regional responsibilities in op- erations, sales and marketing, dis- tribution, engineering and global sourcing. Prior to joining Twin Disc in 2000, Jim spent 21 years at Rockwell Automation in various roles. Feiertag earned a BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an MBA from Marquette University. “We are thrilled to welcome Jim back to Twin Disc,” said John H.
