General sessions, interactive information exchange sessions, and Lunch & Learn sessions were all held within the confines of the exhibit hall. Social receptions and food—featuring delicious, traditional New Orleans fare—were served on MariTrends show floor. And, the popular annual PVA Region Competition was held in the Exhibit Hal, pitting members of each of the PVA Regions against one another in a fun-filled activity that bolstered team building and ca- maraderie while raising funds for the Passenger Vessel Foundation, which supports the passenger vessel industry through educational scholar- ships and safety materials. Wall of Fame The first-ever inductees of the fledgling Passenger Vessel Foundation’s Wall of Fame are Mary and Alan Bernstein, BB Riverboats, Covington, KY. Alan is a PVA Past President. Mary and Alan are strong supporters of the passenger vessel industry and were instrumental in establishing the Passenger Vessel Foundation. While neither were able to accept the award in person due to obligations at their vessel operation, their son, Ben Bernstein, who currently chairs the PVA Safety and Security Committee, spoke of his parents’ passion and unconditional support of PVA and the Foundation.
