Rear Admiral Arguin serves as the assistant commandant for prevention policy and is responsible for the development of national policy, standards, and programs promoting marine safety, securi-ty, and environmental stewardship. Overseeing such programs as ports and facilities, merchant marinercredentialing,vesseldocumentation,marinecasualtyinvestigation,andcommercial vessel inspections, he is the commanding officer who supervises Coast Guard issues pertaining to the passenger vessel industry. From executing the Coast Guard commandants strategies to appealing a marine inspection, his address focused on many significant topics.
