b'T he U.S. Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) recentlyreleased the 2022 National Census of Ferry Operators (NCFO) data. The NCFO is a census of all ferry operators conducted every two years. The first NCFO was initiated in 2005 and BTS has collected the census data for operation years of 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 (after a pandemic-related delay). Note the year indicates the operation year for 2022 NCFO and future NCFOs while it indicates the data collection year for all the past NCFOs (i.e., 2004 NCFO through 2020 NCFO). For example, 2020 NCFO was conducted in 2020 and collected data on 2019 operations. This change was made to align NCFOs with other data products BTS administers. 9 JUNE 2024'
