The Safety and Security and the Regulatory Committees had much to discuss from accomplishments such as the PVABasicFirefightingManualcompletedin2024toa lookattheregulatorylandscapeahead.TheLegislative Committee applauded the victory of the recent withdrawal of the North Atlantic Right Whale rule, a regulation that would have significantly impacted East Coast operators. TheEmergingLeadersCommitteeheldoffonmeeting until a happy hour on Monday evening, bringing together young staff and crew from throughout PVA. The commit-tee spoke to all attendees on the final day of the convention to share opportunities for up-and-coming mariners. Sunday evening, guests boarded the Georgia Queen for the PVA Leadership Dinner and a cruise along the Savannah River. U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) stopped by to per-sonally welcome PVA to the city.
